Founded in the 6th century by Saint Kevin whose fame as saint and scholar attracted crowds of disciples, among them Saint Moling and Saint Lawrence O'Toole. The ruins comprise the great church, a round tower, Saint Kevin's "Cro," and the church of the Blessed Virgin.
