Martyrs in 118. A Roman general under Trajan, Eustachius embraced Christianity after an apparition of Christ between the antlers of a deer was revealed to him one day while hunting. By his conversion he forfeited rank and fortune and was put to death by fire for refusing to sacrifice to idols. His wife Theopista and his two sons Agapius and Theopistus were martyred with him.
