(c.510-601) Abbot, founder of the monastery of Bangor, born near Magheramorne, Ireland; died Bangor. After a short military career he studied under Saint Finnian of Clonard, and Saint Ciaran. With a small following he retired to an island on Lough Erne and practised austere monastic life. He founded the monastery at Bangor, 552. Emblems: fish, pebble. Cult approved, 1903. Feast, May 10,.
