(c.515-600) Confessor, born Glengiven, in the present County Kerry, Ireland; died Aghaboe. He studied under Saint Finian at Clonard, 543, and at Glasnevin under Saint Mobbi, 544. In 545 he was ordained priest in the Monastery of Llancarvan, Glamorganshire, and went to Rome for the papal blessing. In 550 he was again at Glengiven and in 565 went to Scotland where he built cells, an oratory and a monastery, and is known as Saint Kenneth. His Irish foundations were Drumachose, Kilkenny West, and the great Abbey of Aghaboe. He wrote a commentary on the Gospel, known as Glas-Chainingh. Patron of Kilkenny. Feast, October 11,
