Sent on a mission to the West, he labored at the Cahokia (Tamaroa) mission in Illinois until c.1698,when he accompanied Fathers Montigny and Davion to the lower Mississippi to work among the Natchez. After a short time he returned to the Tamaroa, remaining there until 1701, when he again took up residence among the Natchez.
