Vicariate Apostolic founded January 28, 1913, formerly the northern part of the Vicariate Apostolic of Nyassa; entrusted to the White Fathers. Name changed to the vicariate of Kasama on July 10, 1952. Elevated to the diocese of Kasama on April 29, 1959. Elevated to the archdiocese of Kasama on June 12, 1967. See also:
