ME-ZAHAB (‘waters of gold’). Father of Matred and grandfather of Mehetabel the wife of Hadar (Hadad), one of the kings of Edom ( Genesis 36:39 ). The name Mezahab is much more like that of a place than of a person. Holzinger suggests that it is the same name as appears in a corrupted form in Deuteronomy 1:1 as Dizahab (wh. see).
