KJV designations for a gate of the Jerusalem Temple (2 Kings 15:35; 2 Chronicles 23:20; 2 Chronicles 27:3 ). Most modern translations prefer the designation “Upper Gate”. TEV reads “North Gate” or “Main Gate.” Its location is not clear, possibly being the same as the Benjamin Gate. Parallel to 2 Chronicles 23:20 , 2 Kings 11:19 uses “guard” or “herald” as the gate's name, probably reflecting a change of names through history. See Gates of Jerusalem.
