Nissan 6
נִיסָן‎

He took the five loaves and the two fish and, looking up toward heaven, made a b'rakhah (Matthew 14:19).

Do you want to perform a beautiful miracle? Learn from the master rabbi, Messiah, who was given two fish and a few loaves of bread to feed thousands of hungry people. It was clearly too little for the need, but he didn't complain. Instead, he lifted what he had up to the Father and gave thanks for it. Undoubtedly, he said the motzi (the Hebrew blessing over bread):

Barukh atah Adonai, Eloheynu melekh ha'olam, hamotzi lechem min ha'aretz. Ameyn.

Blessed are you, O Lord our God, king of the universe, who brings forth bread from the earth. Amen.

Take note: he didn't focus on all the bread he didn't have. Rather, he gave thanks for the little bread he did have. And then the miracle happened! The bread multiplied!

How do we perform the miracle of multiplying bread? The answer is simple. When we don't have enough in life, we should stop complaining. We should stop focusing on what we lack, and just give thanks. We need to take all the things we wish we had more of, lift them up to God and say the motzi. For when we give thanks to God, we receive the power to perform the miracle of multiplication. The blessings of our lives will begin to multiply, our hunger will turn to fullness, and "not enough" will become "more than enough."

Let's perform our first miracle today—by saying the motzi and multiplying that bread!

...write down ten blessings of God in my life that I haven't thanked him for in a long time, or ever. Then I will spend time lifting them up and giving thanks to him.
