Aharon's staff...had sprouted not only buds but flowers and ripe almonds as well (Numbers 17:23).

During the years that I lived on a farm, I put up a number of fences. Sometimes the wooden posts which we set into the ground were not sufficiently cured. After a few days in the damp soil, they would sprout small branches with leaves. Though these little sprouts lasted only about a week, it was still a sight to see. How much more dramatic was the sprouting of Aharon's (Aaron's) rod! After only one night sitting on dry ground, it produced an entire season's cycle of growth. What a picture of resurrection!

Resurrection is God's mark of authenticity and confirmation. Of the twelve rods that were put before the ark of the covenant, only Aharon's brought forth new life, signifying God's choice of his family for the priesthood. In Ezekiel 37, the Lord declares that his choice of Israel would also be dramatically clear when Israel would be raised up from death and restored both physically and spiritually. Finally, Mashiach (Messiah) himself was "powerfully demonstrated to be Son of God spiritually, set apart by his having been resurrected from the dead" (Romans 1:4). Glory be to the living God who has unimaginable power to bring forth life from the dead!

...count my old nature dead that I might walk in the power of Yeshua's resurrection life.
