Author's Biography
Jim Gerrish earned his Master of Divinity degree from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky (USA), and served as pastor of several churches before being called by the Lord to Israel. Following this call, he and his wife, Betsy, lived in Israel as Christian workers. For most of their sixteen years in the land, Jim was affiliated with the evangelical Christian ministry "Bridges for Peace".
While in Israel, Jim gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. For many years, he directed Christian programs for "Bridges for Peace", welcoming and assisting new immigrants arriving in the country. Additionally, he and Betsy founded and directed the Galilee Study Center in Migdal, near Tiberias, during part of their stay.
Throughout his time in Israel, Jim undertook extensive editorial work for "Bridges for Peace", while also authoring numerous Bible teaching articles. Many of these articles have been translated into various languages, republished in periodicals, and shared widely online. Furthermore, he has produced several eBooks, available free on this website. Several of these books are full-length Bible studies in commentary format and are also accessible on his site, Word of God Today.
After nearly 65 blissfully happy years of marriage, Betsy went to be with Jesus on April 22, 2021. Reflecting on their life together, Jim shares, "God is so, so good to give us all those wonderful years. Truly, every good and perfect gift comes from above."
