1 Kings 3:10 Although Solomon’s choice was made “in a dream” 1 Kings 3:5, we must regard it as springing from his will in some degree, and therefore as indicative of his moral character.
1 Kings 7:49-50 Vea las notas a Éxodo 25:31. Los "cuencos" de 1 Reyes 7:5 eran los "cuencos" para las mesas Éxodo 37:16, jarrones grandes que contenían aceite para las lámparas.
1 Kings 8:15 The exact words of 2 Samuel 7:0 are not reproduced; only their general sense is given. In 1 Kings 8:18, what was merely tacitly implied was regarded as actually “said.”
2 Kings 10:26 The images - Or “pillars” of wood. The Phoenician pillar idols were mere columns, obelisks, or posts, destitute of any shaping into the semblance of humanity (compare 1 Kings 14:23 note).
2 Kings 20:2 He turned his face to the wall - Contrast 1 Kings 21:4. Ahab turned in sullenness, because he was too angry to converse; Hezekiah in devotion, because he wished to pray undisturbed.
1 Chronicles 16:1 The first three verses form part of the narrative commenced at 1 Chronicles 15:25. Compare 2 Samuel 6:17-19, where the passage is not torn from its proper context.
2 Chronicles 9:23 All the kings of the earth - Rather, “all the kings of the land:” all the monarchs, that is, whose dominions were included in So omon’s empire (see 1 Kings 4:21).
Nehemiah 7:4 The people were few - The number of those who returned with Zerubbabel was no more than 42,360 Nehemiah 7:66. Less than 2,000 people had come with Ezra Ezra 8:1-20.
Esther 10:3 Mordecai ... was next unto king Ahasuerus - See Esther 2:5 note. Artabanus (Esther 1:14 note) was favorite toward the end of Xerxes’ reign, i. e. in his 20th and 21st years.
Proverbs 13:10 Either:(1) “By pride alone comes contention” - that is the one unfailing spring of quarrels; or(2) “By pride comes contention only” - it, and it alone, is the fruit of pride.
Proverbs 8:35 Wisdom then is the only true life. The Word, the Light, is also the Life of man John 1:4. The eternal life is to know God and Christ John 17:3.
Leviticus 25:39-40 The law here appears harmoniously to supplement the earlier one in Exodus 21:1-6. It was another check applied periodically to the tyranny of the rich. Compare Jeremiah 34:8-17.

John 7:3 His brethren - See the notes at Matthew 12:47.Thy disciples - The disciples which he had made when he was before in Judea, John 4:1-3.The works - The miracles.

1 Samuel 28:23 The bed - Rather, “the bench” or divan, such as in the East still runs along the wall, furnished with cushions, for those who sit at meals Esther 1:6; Ezekiel 23:41.
1 Samuel 31:6 All his men - This and similar expressions must not be taken too literally (compare 1 Chronicles 10:6). We know that Abner, and Ish-bosheth, and manymore survived the day of Gilboa.
2 Samuel 1:19 La belleza ... - i. mi. Saúl y Jonatán, que eran el principal adorno y orgullo de Israel, y asesinados en "lugares altos" 2 Samuel 1:25, es decir, en el Monte Gilboa.
