3:1 lovers; (c-39) Strictly, 'companions,' 'friends.' see Song of Solomon 5:16 , and Note, Song of Solomon 1:9 .

Verse 2

3:2 heights (d-7) Or 'high places,' strictly, 'bare hills.' see Isaiah 41:18 ; Isaiah 49:9 . so ver. 21; ch. 4.11, &c.

Verse 5

3:5 determined. (a-26) Or 'hast known how to carry them out.' lit. 'thou prevailest,' Genesis 32:28 .
