September 28, 2024
There's only one thing harder than living alone—learning to live with another person! Marriage is like juggling—it looks easy until you try it! All jokes aside, the church family includes all of those who love Jesus, including those who are single. This teaching is for everyone.

Song of Songs: A Provocative Gospel #1
October 26, 2024
Beware of the toothpaste-tube fallacy—going from a small thing (what's the right way to roll up the tube) to a massive thing (he doesn't love me anymore). Issues can build up over time in marriage and sometimes something small feels like the last straw. Take a step back and breathe!

Song of Songs: A Provocative Gospel #1
October 19, 2024
Song of Songs is about human love and marriage. It's a love song at a human level. But love and marriage are about something else as well. Interpreting Song of Songs has long been a source of debate. Pastor Josh explains it on two levels.

October 12, 2024
Fear is not a positive virtue, especially when we think of fearing God. So what does the Bible mean when it exhorts us to fear God? To find out, we look at the end of Ecclesiastes for the final goal of wisdom.

For Attaining Wisdom: Friendship
October 5, 2024
Social networking through the internet—Facebook, Twitter—the question is raised whether all this interaction is actually improving our relationships. Friendship is a wonderful gift—it's one of the richest experiences of life, and it has spiritual benefits, too.

For Attaining Wisdom: Sexual Fidelity, Part 1
September 21, 2024
We can be creative but not be the Creator; we can invent but not truly create. The "gender agenda" is an attempt to recreate humanity. It will not work. Sexual fidelity is God's best for us.

For Attaining Wisdom: Principles, Part 2
September 14, 2024
We will never achieve much nor make life work until we master our fears. The only way to do that is to fear and reverence our Master. The Lord is good and loving, and his perfect love casts out all fear.

There is no ancient literature like the book of Proverbs more likely to enable us to attain a wise life. We need practical wisdom, and the Bible provides it for us.

Genesis - A New Beginning: A New Realization
August 31, 2024
These famous words are from the story of Joseph: "You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good." The great truths that God is utterly sovereign, and that he is weaving everything together for a salvation purpose, all come to us in power as we trust in Christ.

Life to the Full: The Hour Has Come, Part 2
August 27, 2024
This is a complete reversal of every religious assumption we have in our minds. Religion says: Be clean, and God will accept you if you're good enough. Jesus says: Come as you are, dirty feet and all. I'll clean you up. Christianity is, in many ways, the anti-religion. It is all about what God has done for us through His love and transforming grace.

Washing someone else's feet is never a particularly pleasant task to do. But in biblical times, it was a whole different experience. There were all kinds of animals on the roads with no one picking up what they left behind. This makes what Jesus did even more astonishing.
