But God chose what is nonsense in the world to make the wise feel ashamed. God chose what is weak in the world to make the strong feel ashamed.Psalm 8:2; Matthew 11:25; James 2:5;">[xr]

But as it is written,Isaiah 64:4;">[xr] "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love him."Isaiah 64:4">[fn]

Now, we have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we can understand the things that were freely given to us by God.Romans 8:15;">[xr]

We don't speak about these things in words taught us by human wisdom, but in wordsin things">[fn] taught by the Spirit, as we explain spiritual things to spiritual people.in spiritual words">[fn]1 Corinthians 1:4,17; 2 Peter 1:16;">[xr]

The spiritual person evaluates everything but is subject to no one else's evaluation.Proverbs 28:5; 1 Thessalonians 5:21; 1 John 4:1;">[xr]
