So let us keep celebrating the festival, not with the old yeast or with the yeast of vice and wickedness, but with the bread of purity and truth that has no yeast.Exodus 12:15; 13:6; Deuteronomy 16:3; Matthew 16:6,12; Mark 8:15; Luke 12:1;">[xr]

But now I am writing to you to stop associating with any so-called brother if he is sexually immoral, greedy, an idolater, a slanderer, a drunk, or a robber. With such a person you must even stop eating.Matthew 18:17; Romans 16:17; Galatians 2:12; 2 Thessalonians 3:6,14; 2 John 1:1:10;">[xr]

That is what some of you were! But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and inby">[fn] the Spirit of our God.1 Corinthians 1:30; 12:2; Ephesians 2:2; 4:22; 5:8; Colossians 3:7; Titus 3:3; Hebrews 10:22;">[xr]

Everything is permissible for me, but not everything is helpful. Everything is permissible for me, but I will not allow anything to control me.1 Corinthians 10:23;">[xr]

Food is for the stomach, and the stomach is for food, but God will put an end to both of them. The body is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.Matthew 15:17; Romans 14:17; 1 Corinthians 6:15,19-20; Ephesians 5:23; Colossians 2:22-23; 1Corinthians 2:15,19-20,1 Thessalonians 4:3,7;">[xr]

But the person who unites himself with the Lord becomes one spirit with him.John 17:21-23; Ephesians 4:4; 5:30;">[xr]

Keep on running away from sexual immorality. Any other sin that a person commits is outside his body, but the person who sins sexually sins against his own body.Romans 1:24; 6:12-13; 1 Thessalonians 4:4; Hebrews 13:4;">[xr]

But because sexual immorality is so rampant,because of instances of sexual immorality">[fn] every man should have his own wife, and every woman should have her own husband.

A wife does not have authority over her own body, but her husband does. In the same way, a husband doesn't have authority over his own body, but his wife does.

But I say this as a concession, not as a command.1 Corinthians 7:12,25; 2 Corinthians 8:8; 11:17;">[xr]

To married people I give this command (not really I, but the Lord): A wife must not leave her husband.Malachi 2:14,16; Matthew 5:32; Mark 10:11-12; Luke 16:18; Malachi 2:14,16, 1 Corinthians 7:12,25, 40;">[xr]

But if she does leave him, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. Likewise, a husband must not abandondivorce">[fn] his wife.

For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified because of his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified because of her husband.brother">[fn] Otherwise, your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.Malachi 2:15;">[xr]
