And when eight days were fulfilled for circumcising him, his name was called Jesus, which was so called by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

And look, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit was on him.

For my eyes have seen your salvation,

A light for revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of your people Israel.

and Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary his mother, Look, this [child] is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel; and for a sign which is spoken against;

And coming up at that very hour she gave thanks to God, and spoke of him to all those that were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem.

but supposing him to be in the company, they went a day's journey; and they sought for him among their kinsfolk and acquaintances:

and when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking for him.

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and don't begin to say to yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say to you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.

but Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother's wife, and for all the evil things which Herod had done,

And the devil said to him, To you I will give all this authority, and the glory of them: for it has been delivered to me; and to whoever I will I give it.

for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning you, to guard you:

And when the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him for a season.

But of a truth I say to you, There were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up for three years and six months, when there came a great famine over all the land;

and they were astonished at his teaching; for his word was with authority.

And amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, What is this word? for with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.

And he rose up from the synagogue, and entered into the house of Simon. And Simon's wife's mother was held with a great fever; and they implored him for her.

But he said to them, I must preach the good tidings of the kingdom of God to the other cities also: for therefore I was sent.

And when he had left speaking, he said to Simon, Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch.

But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
