The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and the evil [man] out of the evil [treasure] brings forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

And they, when they came to Jesus, implored him earnestly, saying, He is worthy that you should do this for him;

for he loves our nation, and himself built us our synagogue.

And Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the captain sent friends, saying to him, Lord, don't trouble yourself; for I am not worthy that you should come under my roof:

For I also am a man set under authority, having under myself soldiers: and I say to this one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my slave, Do this, and he does it.

sent them to the Lord, saying, Are you he that comes, or do we look for another?

And when the men had come to him, they said, John the Baptist has sent us to you, saying, Are you he that comes, or do we look for another?

But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected for themselves the counsel of God, not being baptized of him.

For John the Baptist has come eating no bread nor drinking wine; and you say, He has a demon.

And turning to the woman, he said to Simon, Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, you gave me no water for my feet: but she has wet my feet with her tears, and wiped them with her hair.

Therefore I say to you, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, [the same] loves little.

And those on the rock [are] they who, when they have heard, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who for awhile believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

For nothing is hid, that shall not be made manifest; nor [anything] secret, that shall not be known and come to light.

Take heed therefore how you hear: for whoever has, to him shall be given; and whoever does not have, from him shall be taken away even that which he thinks he has.

And there came to him his mother and brothers, and they could not come at him for the crowd.

And when he came forth on the land, there met him a certain man out of the city, who had demons; and for a long time he had worn no clothes, and did not abide in [any] house, but in the tombs.

For he commanded the unclean spirit to come out from the man. For oftentimes it had seized him: and he was kept under guard, and bound with chains and fetters; and breaking the bands apart, he was driven by the demon into the deserts.

And Jesus asked him, What is your name? And he said, Legion; for many demons went into him.

And all the people of the country of the Gerasenes round about asked him to depart from them, for they were held with great fear: and he entered into a boat, and returned.

Return to your house, and declare how much God has done for you. And he went his way, publishing throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him.
