FOR the kingdom of heaven is like a man, who is a householder, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.

He bargained with the laborers for a penny a day, and sent them to his vineyard.

He answered and said to one of them, My friend, I am not doing you an injustice; did you not bargain with me for a penny?

Even so the last shall be first, and the first last; for many are called, but few are chosen.

He said to them, Indeed my cup you shall drink, and the baptism with which I am to be baptized, you too shall be baptized with; but to sit at my right hand and at my left, that is not mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by my Father.

Just as the Son of man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life as a salvation for the sake of many.

And Jesus stopped and called them, and he said, What do you wish me to do for you?

And he saw a fig tree on the roadside, and he came to it and found nothing on it except leaves; and he said to it, Let there be no fruit on you again for ever. And shortly the fig tree withered.

And if we should say, from men, we are afraid of the people, for all of them regard John as a prophet.

For John came to you in a righteousness way, and you did not believe him; but the publicans and the harlots believed him; but you, even though you saw, did not repent, so that later you may believe him.

The kingdom of heaven is like a king who gave a marriage-feast for his son.

For many are invited, and few are chosen.

So they sent to him their disciples together with the Herodians, and they said to him, Teacher, we know that you are true, and you teach the way of God justly; and you do not favor any man, for you do not discriminate between men.

And said to him, Teacher, Moses has told us, If a man die without sons, let his brother take his wife, and raise up offspring for his brother.

Therefore at the resurrection, to which of these seven will she be a wife? for they all married her.

For at the resurrection of the dead, they neither marry women, nor are women given to men in marriage, but they are like the angels of God in heaven.

He said to them, How is it then that David through the Spirit calls him Lord? For he said,

Therefore whatever they tell you to obey, obey and do it, but do not do according to their works; for they say and do not.

And all their works they do, just to be seen by men; for they widen the fringes of their garments, and they lengthen the ends of their robes,

But you do not be called, Rabbi; for one is your Master, and all you are brethren.
