For I am Yahweh your God, who stirs up the sea, so that the waves thereof roar: Yahweh of hosts is his name.

Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for from now on there shall no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.

For thus says Yahweh, You were sold for nothing; and you shall be redeemed without money.

For thus says the Lord Yahweh, My people went down at the first into Egypt to sojourn there: and the Assyrian has oppressed them without cause.

Now therefore, what do I have here, says Yahweh, seeing that my people is taken away for nothing? those that rule over them howl, says Yahweh, and my name is blasphemed continually all the day.

The voice of your watchmen! they lift up the voice, together they sing; for they shall see eye to eye, when Yahweh returns to Zion.

Break forth into joy, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem; for Yahweh has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.

For you shall not go out in a hurry, neither shall you go by flight: for Yahweh will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rearward.

So he will sprinkle many nations; kings will shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told to them they will see; and that which they had not heard they will understand.

For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he has no form nor majesty; and when we see him, there is no appearance that we should desire him.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on him; and with his stripes we are healed.

By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and who considered his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living; because of the transgression of my people he was stricken to death.

Yet it pleased Yahweh to bruise him that was made sick. If his soul makes an offering for sin, [then] he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Yahweh shall prosper in his hand.

Therefore I will divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death, and was numbered with the transgressors: yet he bore the sins of many, and made intercession for their sins.

Sing, O barren, you that did not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you that did not travail: for more are the sons of the desolate than the sons of the married wife, says Yahweh.

For you shall spread abroad on the right hand and on the left; and your seed shall possess the nations, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

Don't be afraid; for you shall not be ashamed: neither be confounded; for you shall not be put to shame: for you shall forget the shame of your youth; and the reproach of your widowhood you shall remember no more.

For your Maker is your husband; Yahweh of hosts is his name: and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he shall be called the God of the whole earth.

For Yahweh has called you as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even a wife of youth, when she is cast off, says your God.

For a small moment I have forsaken you; but with great mercies I will gather you.
