How is the faithful city become a harlot! For once it was full of justice; and righteousness lodged in it, but now murderers.

He cultivated it and fenced it and planted it with the choicest vines, and built a watchtower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress in it; and he expected that it should bring forth grapes, but it brought forth wild grapes.

We shall lay bricks and hew stones; the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.

The Edomites from the east and the Philistines from the west; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
