For which of you, who wishes to build a tower, does not at first sit down and consider its cost, to see if he has enough to finish it?

It is good neither for the ground nor for fertilizing; but it is thrown out. He who has ears to hear let him hear.

It was right for us to make merry and rejoice; for this your brother was dead and has come to life; and was lost and is found.

So his master called him and said to him, What is this that I hear concerning you? Give me an account of your stewardship; for no longer can you be a steward for me.

Then the steward said to himself, What will I do? for my lord will take away from me the stewardship? I cannot dig, and I am ashamed to beg.

And the lord praised the unjust steward because he had done wisely; for the children of this world are wiser in their generation than the children of light.

No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and like the other; or he will honor one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (wealth).

But Jesus said to them, You are the ones who make yourselves righteous before men; but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is disgusting in the presence of God.

It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one letter of the law to pass away.

And he called in a loud voice and said, O my father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip his finger in water and wet my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

For I have five brothers; let him go and testify to them, so that they may not also come to this place of torment.

It were better for him that an ass'' millstone were hanged on his neck, and he thrown into the sea, than cause one of these little ones to stumble.

Neither will they say, Behold, it is here! or, behold, it is there! for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

For just as the lightning flashes from the sky, and all under the sky is lightened, such will be the day of the Son of man.
