So not only is this trade of ours in danger of falling into disrepute, but also the temple of the great goddess Diana may be despised and her magnificence destroyed, [fn] whom all Asia and the world worship."

But when they found out that he was a Jew, all with one voice cried out for about two hours, "Great is Diana of the Ephesians!"

But concerning the Gentiles who believe, we have written and decided that they should observe no such thing, [fn] except that they should keep themselves from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality."

But Paul said, "I am a Jew from Tarsus, in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city; and I implore you, permit me to speak to the people."
