Verse Jeremiah 50:46. At the noise of the taking of Babylon — Jeremiah 49:21. In the forty-ninth chapter, these words are spoken of Nebuchadnezzar; here, of Cyrus. The taking of Babylon was a wonder to all the surrounding nations. It was thought to be impregnable.
