When you depart from me today, behold, you will find two men at Rachels sepulchre in the territory of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say to you, The asses which you went to seek are found; and, lo, your father has ceased worrying about the asses, and is concerned about you, saying, What shall I do for my son?

And it shall be when these signs are come to you, that you shall do whatever you wish, for the LORD is with you.

And Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day; for today the LORD has wrought salvation in Israel.

Now therefore be ready, and see this great thing which the LORD will do for you.

Behold, it is wheat harvest today; I will call to the LORD, and he shall send thunder and rain; and you shall know and see that your wickedness is great, in that you have asked for yourselves a king.

And all the people said to Samuel. Pray for your servants before the LORD your God, that we may not die; for we have added to all our sins a great evil, in that we have asked for ourselves a king.

And do not turn aside after vain things which cannot deliver you; that you may not die, for they are vain things.

For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great names sake; because he is pleased to make you his people.

Moreover as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way;

Only revere the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart and with all your soul; for consider what great things he has done for you.

He then chose for himself three thousand men of Israel; two thousand were with him in Michmash and in mount Beth-el, and a thousand were with Jonathan his son in Ramtha of Benjamin; and the rest of the people he sent every man to his house.

And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly; for you have not kept the commandment of the LORD your God, which he commanded you; for now would the LORD have established your kingdom over Israel, as he had said, I will establish you for ever.

But now your kingdom shall not continue; for the LORD has chosen for himself a man after his own heart, and the LORD has commanded him to be a ruler over his people, because you have not kept all the commandments that the LORD your God gave you.

Now there was no smith found throughout all the land of Israel; for the Philistines said, We do not want the Hebrews to make swords and spears;

And there was a broad file for the sickle and for the ploughshare and for mattocks and for the axe and to sharpen the goads.

And Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, Come, let us cross over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the LORD will help us; for nothing will prevent the LORD from saving by many or by few.

But if they say to us thus, Come up to us; then we will go up; for the LORD our God has delivered them into our hand; and this shall be a sign to us.

And the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armorbearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will show you something. And Jonathan said to his armorbearer, Come up after me; for the LORD has delivered them into the hand of Israel.

And Saul said to Ahiah, Bring here the ark of God. For the ark of God was at that time with the children of Israel.

And when the people were come into the forest, behold, the honey was dropping; but no one put his hand to his mouth; for the people feared the oath.
