for those involved in sexual immorality, for homosexuals, for kidnappers,slave traders">[fn] for liars, for false witnesses, and for whatever else goes against the healthy teaching1 Timothy 6:3; 2 Timothy 4:3; Titus 1:9; 2:1;">[xr]

But for that very reason I received mercy, so that in me, as the worst sinner,sinner">[fn] Christ Jesus might demonstrate all of his patience as an example for those who would believe in him for eternal life.Acts 13:39; 2 Corinthians 4:1;">[xr]

First of all, then, I urge you to offer petitions, prayers, intercessions, and expressions of thanks for all people,

For if a man does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?

Those deacons who serve well gain an excellent reputation for themselves and will have great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.Matthew 25:21;">[xr]

Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but be an example for other believers in your speech, behavior, love, faithfulness,faith">[fn] and purity.1 Corinthians 16:11; Titus 2:7,15; 1 Peter 5:3;">[xr]

Pay close attention to your life and your teaching. Persevere in these things, for if you do this, you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.Ezekiel 33:9; Acts 20:28; Romans 11:14; 1 Corinthians 9:22; James 5:20;">[xr]

But if a widow has children or grandchildren, they must first learn to respect their own family by repaying their parents, for this is pleasing in God's sight.Genesis 45:10-11; Matthew 15:4; Ephesians 6:1-2; 1 Timothy 2:3;">[xr]
