Brothers, we ask you to show your appreciation for those who work among you, set an example for you in the Lord, and instructadmonish">[fn] you.1 Corinthians 16:18; Philippians 2:29; 1 Timothy 5:17; Hebrews 13:7,17;">[xr]

Make sure that no one pays back evil for evil. Instead, always pursue what is good for each other and for everyone else.Leviticus 19:18; Proverbs 20:22; 24:29; Matthew 5:39,44; Romans 12:17; 1 Corinthians 6:7; Galatians 6:10; 1 Thessalonians 3:12; 1 Peter 3:9;">[xr]

In everything be thankful, because this is God's will in Christ Jesus for you.Ephesians 5:20; Colossians 3:17;">[xr]

Brothers, prayalso pray">[fn] for us.Colossians 4:3; 2 Thessalonians 3:1;">[xr]

At all times we are obligated to thank God for you, brothers. It is right to do thisAs is right">[fn] because your faith is growing all the time and the love of every one of you for each other is increasing.1 Thessalonians 1:2-3; 2 Thessalonians 2:13;">[xr]

This is evidence of God's righteous judgment and is intended to make you worthy of God's kingdom, for which you are suffering.Philippians 1:28; 1 Thessalonians 2:14;">[xr]

Certainly it is right for God to pay back those who afflict you with afflictionRevelation 6:10;">[xr]

With this in mind, we always pray for you, askingasking">[fn] that our God might make you worthy of his calling and that through his power he might help you accomplish every good desire and faithful work.1 Thessalonians 1:3; 2 Thessalonians 1:5;">[xr]

Do not let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day cannot comethat day cannot come">[fn] unless the rebellionapostasy">[fn] takes place first and the man of sin,man of lawlessness">[fn] who is destined for destruction,the son of destruction">[fn] is revealed.Daniel 7:25; Matthew 24:4; John 17:12; Ephesians 5:6; 1 Timothy 4:1; 1 John 2:18; Revelation 13:11;">[xr]

For the secret of this lawlessness is already at work, but only until the person now holding it back gets out of the way.1 John 2:18; 4:3;">[xr]

For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie.1 Kings 22:22; Ezekiel 14:9; Matthew 24:5,11; Romans 1:24; 1 Timothy 4:1;">[xr]

At all times we are obligated to thank God for you, brothers who are loved by the Lord, because God chose you to be the first fruitsfrom the beginning">[fn] for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and through faith in the truth.Luke 1:75; Ephesians 1:4; 1 Thessalonians 1:4; 2 Thessalonians 1:3; 1 Peter 1:2;">[xr]

Finally, brothers, pray for us - that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly, and that it may be honored the way it is among you.Ephesians 6:19; Colossians 4:3; 1 Thessalonians 5:25;">[xr]
