So He said, "Go forth and stand on the mountain before Yahweh." And behold, Yahweh was passing by! And a great and strong wind was tearing up the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before Yahweh; but Yahweh was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but Yahweh was not in the earthquake.

Then after the earthquake a fire, but Yahweh was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a thin gentle whisper.

but about this time tomorrow I will send my servants to you, and they will search your house and the houses of your servants; and whatever is desirable in your eyes, they will put in their hand and carry away.'"

So he said to the messengers of Ben-hadad, "Say to my lord the king, ‘All that you sent for to your servant at the first I will do, but this thing I cannot do.'" And the messengers departed and brought him word again.

Now the servants of the king of Aram said to him, "Their gods are gods of the mountains, therefore they were stronger than we; but rather let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we will be stronger than they.

Now the sons of Israel were mustered and were provided for and went to meet them; and the sons of Israel camped before them like two little flocks of goats, but the Arameans filled the land.

Then a man of God came near and spoke to the king of Israel and said, "Thus says Yahweh, ‘Because the Arameans have said, "Yahweh is a god of the mountains, but He is not a god of the valleys," therefore I will give all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am Yahweh.'"

But the rest fled to Aphek into the city, and the wall fell on 27,000 men who were left. And Ben-hadad fled and came into the city into an inner chamber.

Now a certain man of the sons of the prophets said to another by the word of Yahweh, "Please strike me." But the man refused to strike him.

But Naboth said to Ahab, "Yahweh forbid me that I should give you the inheritance of my fathers."

But Jezebel his wife came to him and said to him, "How is it that your spirit is so sullen that you are not eating food?"

So he said to her, "Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite and said to him, ‘Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it pleases you, I will give you a vineyard in its place.' But he said, ‘I will not give you my vineyard.'"

Now it happened that when Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, Jezebel said to Ahab, "Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead."

"Do you see how Ahab has humbled himself before Me? Because he has humbled himself before Me, I will not bring the evil in his days, but I will bring the evil upon his house in his son's days."

Then the king of Israel said to his servants, "Do you know that Ramoth-gilead belongs to us, but we are sitting still so as not to take it out of the hand of the king of Aram?"

But Jehoshaphat said, "Is there not yet a prophet of Yahweh here that we may inquire of him?"

And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh, but I hate him, because he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. He is Micaiah son of Imlah." But Jehoshaphat said, "Let not the king say so."

But Micaiah said, "As Yahweh lives, what Yahweh says to me, that I shall speak."

Then the king said to him, "How many times must I make you swear that you will speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of Yahweh?"

Then the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "Did I not say to you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?"
