Now as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to praise God, rejoicing with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen,

saying, "If you knew in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.

For the days will come upon you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side,

and they could not find anything that they might do, for all the people hung upon every word He said.

But if we say, ‘From men,' all the people will stone us to death, for they are convinced that John was a prophet."

And He began to tell the people this parable: "A man planted a vineyard and rented it out to vine-growers, and went on a journey for a long time.

And the scribes and the chief priests tried to lay hands on Him that very hour, but they feared the people. For they understood that He spoke this parable against them.

Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?"

and they questioned Him, saying, "Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies, having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should marry the wife and raise up seed for his brother.

Therefore, this woman—in the resurrection—whose wife will she be? For all seven had her as a wife."

For they cannot even die anymore, because they are like angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

Now He is not the God of the dead but of the living; for all live to Him."

For they did not dare to question Him any longer about anything.

For David himself says in the book of Psalms,‘The Lord said to my Lord,"Sit at My right hand,

Until I put Your enemies as a footstool for Your feet."'

who devour widows' houses, and for appearance's sake offer long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation."

For they all put in their gifts out of their abundance; but she, out of what she lacked, put in all that she had for living."

"As for these things which you are looking at, the days will come in which there will not be left one stone upon another which will not be torn down."

And He said, "See to it that you are not deceived; for many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,' and, ‘The time is at hand.' Do not go after them.

And when you hear of wars and disturbances, do not be terrified; for these things must take place first, but the end does not follow immediately."
