However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come.

Until now you have not asked for anything in My name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.

For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came from God.

Now we understand that You know all things and that You have no need for anyone to question You. Because of this, we believe that You came from God."

For You granted Him authority over all humanity, so that He may give eternal life to all those You have given Him.

For them I sanctify Myself, so that they too may be sanctified by the truth.

And I have made Your name known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love You have for Me may be in them, and I in them."

"I told you that I am He," Jesus replied. "So if you are looking for Me, let these men go."

Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jews that it would be better if one man died for the people.

"Then You are a king!" Pilate said. "You say that I am a king," Jesus answered. "For this reason I was born and have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to My voice."

"What is truth?" Pilate asked. And having said this, he went out again to the Jews and told them, "I find no basis for a charge against Him.

Once again Pilate came out and said to the Jews, "Look, I am bringing Him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against Him."

As soon as the chief priests and officers saw Him, they shouted, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!" "You take Him and crucify Him," Pilate replied, "for I find no basis for a charge against Him."

It was the day of Preparation for the Passover, about the sixth hour. And Pilate said to the Jews, "Here is your King!"

When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they divided His garments into four parts, one for each soldier, with the tunic remaining. It was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.

So they said to one another, "Let us not tear it. Instead, let us cast lots to see who will get it." This was to fulfill the Scripture: "They divided My garments among them, and cast lots for My clothing." So that is what the soldiers did.

Afterward, Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus (but secretly for fear of the Jews), asked Pilate to let him remove the body of Jesus. Pilate gave him permission, so he came and removed His body.
