ק (Qof) Get up! Cry out in the night when the night watches start! Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord! Lift up your hands to him for your children's lives; they are fainting at every street corner.

It is good to wait patiently for deliverance from the Lord .

כ (Kaf) For the Lord will not reject us forever.

For he is not predisposed to afflict or to grieve people.

Why should any living person complain when punished for his sins?

צ (Tsade) For no good reason my enemies hunted me down like a bird.

You heard my plea: "Do not close your ears to my cry for relief!"

ד (Dalet) The infant's tongue sticks to the roof of its mouth due to thirst; little children beg for bread, but no one gives them even a morsel.

ע (Ayin) Our eyes continually failed us as we looked in vain for help. From our watchtowers we watched for a nation that could not rescue us.

צ (Tsade) Our enemies hunted us down at every step so that we could not walk about in our streets. Our end drew near, our days were numbered, for our end had come!

ש (Sin/Shin) Rejoice and be glad for now, O people of Edom, who reside in the land of Uz. But the cup of judgment will pass to you also; you will get drunk and take off your clothes.

We must pay money for our own water; we must buy our own wood at a steep price.

The crown has fallen from our head; woe to us, for we have sinned!

For wild animals are prowling over Mount Zion, which lies desolate.

They had human hands under their wings on their four sides. As for the faces and wings of the four of them,

And as for them, whether they listen or not—for they are a rebellious house—they will know that a prophet has been among them.

But you, son of man, do not fear them, and do not fear their words—even though briers and thorns surround you and you live among scorpions—do not fear their words and do not be terrified of the looks they give you, for they are a rebellious house!
