Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

יָלַע i.q. לָעָה [i.q. לוּע Thes.], Arab. لغى to utter anything rashly (Syn. בָּטָא), Proverbs 20:25. In Arabic the verb لغى is used of rash oaths, Kor. Sur. ii. 225. As to the power of the syllable לע see under לוּעַ.
