an adjective signifying "born before" (pro, before, and ginomai, see No. 1), is used as a noun, in the plural, (a) of ancestors, "forefathers," 2 Timothy 1:3; (b) of living "parents," 1 Timothy 5:4 . See FOREFATHER.
