"(C1)If a man makes a vow to the LORD, or takes an oath to (F1)put himself under a binding obligation, he shall not break his word; he shall act in accordance with everything that comes out of his mouth.

"And if a woman makes a vow to the LORD, and puts herself under a binding obligation in her father's house in her youth,

"Every vow and every binding oath to humble herself, her husband may confirm it or her husband may annul it.

So Moses spoke to the people, saying, "Arm men from among you for the war, so that they may (F1)go against Midian to execute (C1)the LORD'S vengeance on Midian.

So they made war against Midian, just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and (C1)they killed every male.
