an English clergyman, was born in 1709 at Dean, Cumberland, and was educated at Lowther, Westmoreland, and at Queen's College, Oxford, where he was preacher for some years. In 1750 he was presented to the rectory of St. Mary, at Hill. He died at Worcester, July 21, 1763, leaving a volume of Sermons (1757): — Two Epistles: — (744 4to, written in 1735): — and some single Sermons. See Chalmers, Biog.
