(Strong's #1496 — Noun Masculine — eidololatres — i-do-lol-at'-race )

an "idolater" (from eidolon, and latris, "a hireling"), is found in 1 Corinthians 5:10,11; 6:9; 10:7; the warning is to believers against turning away from God to idolatry, whether "openly or secretly, consciously or unconsciously" (Cremer); Ephesians 5:5; Revelation 21:8; 22:15 .
