Jesuit archaeologist, born Tolmezzo, Italy, 1795; died Rome, Italy, 1860. He proved the Christian origin of the catacombs, and was the master and guide of de Rossi. His chief works are: "Musei Kircherniani inscriptiones" and "Monumenti delle arti cristiane primitive."
