Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

קָצַף fut. יִקְצֹף.

(1) i.q. Arab. قصف to break (compare under קָצַב). Hence קֶצֶף No. 1, and קְצָפָה.

(2) to break out, or forth into anger (Gr. ῥήγνυμι), hence to be angry, indignant, Isaiah 57:16, 64:8 followed by עַל of pers. Genesis 40:2, 41:10 Exodus 16:20 followed by אֵל Joshua 22:18.

Hiphil, to provoke (Jehovah) to anger, Deuteronomy 9:7,, 22.

Hithpael, i.q. Kal No. 2, Isaiah 8:21.
