סַף m. with suff. סִפִּי pr. an expansion, spreading out (from the root סָפַף); hence

(1)  a basin, bowl, Exodus 12:22; Zechariah 12:2 pl. ־ִים Jeremiah 52:19, and וֹת 1 Kings 7:50.

(2) sill, threshold (Syr. ܣܦܶܐܳ atrium), Judges 19:27; 2 Kings 12:10. (Ch. and Samar. id.).

(3) [Saph], pr.n. m. 2 Samuel 21:18, for which there is 1 Chronicles 20:4, סִפַּי.
