נְקַשׁ Ch. to smite, or strike, Daniel 5:6, “and his knees דָּא לְדָא נָקְשָׁן smote together.” (Syr. id.; also used of the teeth chattering from fear, Arab. نقس to strike, e.g. a bell.)
