 I. מָנוֺחַ noun masculine resting-place, state, or condition of rest; — absolute ׳מ Genesis 8:9 4t.; construct מְנוֺחַ 1 Chronicles 6:16; plural suffix 2 feminine singular מְנוּחָ֑יְכִי Psalm 116:7 (Ges§ 91 l); —

1 resting-place לְכַף רֶגֶל Genesis 8:9 (J), compare Deuteronomy 28:65; Lamentations 1:3; Isaiah 34:14 (compare also מְנֻחָה Genesis 49:15).

2 rest, repose of soul Psalm 116:7 (plural abstract or intensive); condition of rest and security attained by marriage Ruth 3:1.

מָנוֹחַ (from the root נוּחַ), with suff. pl. מְנוּחַיִךְ (Psalms 116:7).

(1)  rest, Lamentations 1:3. To seek rest for a woman, i.e. “conditionem” (Liv. iii. 45); to seek marriage, Ruth 3:1. Plur. Psalms 116:7.

(2) a place of rest, Genesis 8:9; Deuteronomy 28:65.
