חַרְגֹּל m. a locust, so called from its leaping (see the root, comp. ἀττακός, ἀττέλαβος, from ᾄττειν), with wings and fit for food, Leviticus 11:22. (Arab, حَرْجَلَةُ a troop of horses, also of locusts, حَرْجُوَانُ, l and n being interchanged, a kind of locust without wings).
