Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

חוּרָם (perhaps “noble,” “free-born,” from חֹר with the termination ־ָם), Huram, pr.n.

(1) of a king of Tyre, cotemporary with Solomon, 2 Chronicles 2:2 elsewhere חִירָם 2 Samuel 5:11; 1 Kings 5:15 [“called in Greek Εἴρωμος, Jos. c. Ap. i. 17, 18”].

(2) of a Tyrian artificer, 2 Chronicles 4:11 elsewhere חִירוֹם 1 Kings 7:40 חִירָם 2 Ch. loc. cit. כתיב; חוּרָם אָבִי 2 Chronicles 2:12 and חוּרָם אָבִיז 4:16 (where either the one reading or the other must have been corrupted); [however, Gesenius explains the readings as they stand in Thes. i. page 458].

(3) a Benjamite, 1 Chronicles 8:5.
