2. the (supposed) sloping of the earth from the equator toward the poles, a zone: Aristotle, Dionysius Halicarnassus, Plutarch, others; Josephus, b. j. 5, 12, 2.

3. a tract of land, a region: Romans 15:23; 2 Corinthians 11:10; Galatians 1:21; (Polybius 5,44,6; 7,6, 1; Herodian, 2, 11, 8 (4 edition, Bekker); others).

For κλίμα, ";region,"; as in Romans 15:23 al., cf. OGIS 519.18 (c. A.D. 245) οἱ πεμφθέντες εἰς ] τὸ Ἀππιανῶν κλίμα, and the magic P Lond 121.481 (iii/A.D.) (= I. p. 99) ἐξορκίζω σε κατὰ τῶν τεσσάρων κλιμάτων τοῦ κόσμου. Cf. Ramsay Galatians, p. 278 ff. For κλίμα, ";slope,"; cf. Aristeas 59 τὸ. . ἐκτὸς κλίμα, ";the side which sloped outwards (of a table)"; See also Archiv i. p. 422, and cf. Kaibel 579.2 (ii/A.D.) ἑπταετε [ ] κλίματι, where the reference is to death occasioned by a ";fall"; at seven years of age.
