ζέω is found in its literal sense in a iii/A.D. recipe, P Lond 121.170 (= I. p. 89) ᾠὸν ὅμοιον μήλον (l. μήλῳ) γενέσθαι ζέσας τὸ ᾠὸν χρείε κρόκῳ μείξας μετ᾽ οἴνου : cf. the medical recipe P Oxy XI. 1384.36 (v/A.D.) λαβὸν (l. ὼν) μῆλα κυπαρίσου ζέσας κλοίζου, ";take the fruit of a cypress, boil it and apply"; (Edd.). MGr ζέσι, ζέστη, ";heat,"; and ζεσταίνω, ";make warm.";
