This NT ἅπ . εἰρ . (Hebrews 11:37) may be illustrated from P Lond 1171.27 (B.C. 8) (= III. p. 178), farm accounts, with προβά (των ) δέρματα as an item. So in the dream of a visitor who had sought guidance and assistance in the Serapeum, P Par 50.15 (B.C. 160) οἴετο ἄνθρωπον λέγειν μοι · Φέρε τὸ δέρμα τοῦ ποδός σου καὶ ἐγὼ δώσω σοι τὸ δέρμα τοῦ ποδός μου . See also P Fay 107.2 (A.D. 133) ὑφείλαντο δέρματα αἰγειὰ (corr. from αἰγειὰν ) τέσσαρα , ";they carried off four goatskins,"; ib. 121.12 (c. A.D. 100) τὸ δ ̣[έρ ]μ ̣α τοῦ μόσχου οὗ ἐθ ̣υ ̣[σ ]αμεν , ";the hide of the calf that we sacrificed,"; P Grenf II. 51.15 (A.D. 143) [πέ ]χειν αὐτοὺς τιμὴν δερμάτων αἰγικῶν τεσσάρων . From the inscrr., e.g. Syll 592.14 (end of ii/B.C.) λαμβάνειν δὲ καὶ γέρα τῶν θυομένων ἱερείων ἐν τῶι ἱερῶι πάντων , σκέλος δεξὶὸν καὶ τὰ δέρματα κτλ ., and Cagnat IV. 1000.62 (ii/B.C., end), where at an annual memorial feast in Amorgos it is ordained παρατιθέτωσαν (δὲ ) τἄλλα μὲν θυθέντα , [τ ] (δὲ ) δέρματα ἀποδόμενοι παραχρῆμα καταναλισκέτωσαν παραχρῆμα καὶ ταῦτα ἐν τόπῳ .
