 כָּלִיל adjective and substantive entire, whole, holocaust, construct כְּלִיל, feminine construction כְּלִילַת: —

1. adjective Ezekiel 16:14 (of Jerusalem) the report בְּיָפְיֵךְ כִּי כָּלִיל הוּא, Ezekiel 28:12 כְּלִיל יָֹֽפִי׃ (of the king of Tyre) entire, perfect in beauty; Ezekiel 27:3 אֲנִי כְּלִילַת יָֹֽפִי׃ (of Tyre), Lamentations 2:15 (of Jerusalem) הֲזֹאת הָעִיר שֶׁיּאֹמְרוּ כְּלִילַת יֹ֔פִי.

2. substantive a. entirety, whole, Exodus 28:31 thou shalt make the robe of the ephod כְּלִיל תְּכֵלֶת a whole of purple (i.e. wholly purple); so Exodus 39:22; Numbers 4:6 בֶּגֶד כְּלִיל תְּכֵלֶת; Judges 20:40 והנה עלה כְּלִילהָֿעִירהשׁמימה the whole of the city (perhaps with allusion to meaning

כָּלִיל m. [f. כְּלִילָה] (from the root כָּלַל)

(1) adj. perfect, complete, especially of perfect beauty. Ezekiel 28:12, כְּלִיל יֹפִי of perfect beauty. Ezekiel 27:3; Lamentations 2:15; Ezekiel 16:14.

(2) subst. the whole, the totality. Judges 20:40, כְּלִיל־הָעִיר the whole city. Exodus 28:31, כְּלִיל תְּכֵלֶת the whole of blue. Exodus 39:22; Numbers 4:6.

(3) i.q. עוֹלָה a whole burnt offering, a sacrifice of which the whole is burned, Deuteronomy 33:10 Psalm 51:21.

(4) adv. altogether. Isaiah 2:18; Leviticus 6:15.
