Hammedatha

The 1901 Jewish Encyclopedia

Father of Haman (Esther 3:1,10; 8:5; 9:10,24). He is generally designated as the "Agagite," being referred to only once (ib. 9:10) without that epithet. The name, derived from the Persian, signifies "given by the moon."
