Benjamin ben Moses

The 1901 Jewish Encyclopedia

Italian scholar; lived at Rome at the beginning of the fifteenth century. He took an active part in the administration of the Jewish community of Rome, and was one of the delegates to the assembly of the Italian Jewish communities held at Forli in 1426. Benjamin is the author of a polemical work entitled "Teshubot ha-Noẓrim Mikol ha-Miḳra ume-Re'iyyot ha-Da'at" (Refutations of Christianity on Biblical and Logical Grounds). The work is still extant in manuscript (Neubauer, "Cat. Bodl. Hebr. MSS." No. 2,408, 3; Codex Halberstamm, 32).
