Gershon ben Solomon ben Asher
The 1901 Jewish Encyclopedia
French Talmudist; flourished at Béziers in the twelfth century. He was the author of a casuistic work entitled "Sefer ha-Shalmon," finished by his son Samuel. Isaac b. Sheshet quotes this work in his Responsa (No. 170), but he quotes also (No. 40) a "Sefer ha-Shulḥan," the same title being given also by Azulai ("Shem ha-Gedolim," s. "Gershon"). Gershon also wrote a collection of responsa (see Abudarham, "Ḥibbur," ed. Venice, p. 26a).
